Ahhh... summer

Hello all! All though I know that you may assume we work painstakingly night and day at our jobs (huh?) we thought it'd be nice to let you in on our summer hobbies! Honestly, when the sun's out and there's no work to be done, we love to get out and enjoy the outdoors!
So before the wedding, I (chris) was able to run down some bikes that were going to be claimed and tossed. Having absolutely no idea what i was doing nor having any prior experience I stripped them both down and started working off the rust and restoring the hardware to it's former glory. Later came the sanding and then the painting which i knew how to do, and the finished product was two brand new, custom cruisers! We don't even use the car anymore if we have to! Of course, carrie's is yellow and she said "i don't want just yellow but bright, banana yellow". Sooo that's what we got her. It still needs alittle fixing up but i think it very much fits her style!
My bike however, was a bit more complex as it was not the simple, classic style that hers was. I had to do a lot of research on road bikes, hi and lo derailers and gear cables. Still has a bit more work to do on it also (like replacing that front tire also), but I'm very happy with it and have greatly enjoyed the feeling a bike can bring. I probably ride at least a mile a day between work and the apartment and all the other places I may have to head to (my job is never in one place) so it's a great way to FOOL myself into exercising! I ended up going with green and gray when it came time to paint it. I'm sort of trying to build up some chops so i can ride the Lenape bike tour through Anderson. I think it's about 8 miles or so. Anyhow, that's all for now!
